A lesson we were taught but have not fully learned yet is that we can not hand our responsibility over to these people and expect them to do what is right. The Founders did not intend service as a Representative of a State to be an occupation or lifetime career, but that is what happened. Which is why we NEED term limits! I would make a suggestion that before any young person is given the right to cast a vote, they read a book of writings by some great Patriots like Patrick Henry, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Mark Twain and Will Rodgers. If we do NOT do our job, we can NOT expect them to do theirs. Democracy DOES NOT begin and end when you get off your ass to vote for President every 4 years. DEMOCRACY BEGINS WITH YOU, TAG! It's official: the Minnesota canvassing board has certified Al Franken as the winner of November's U.S. Senate election in the great state of Minnesota. Nonetheless, despite having virtually no chance of victory, Norm Coleman is vowing to file suit in an attempt to drag out the process of Senator-elect Franken's victory.
Now is a good time to remember what Norm Coleman said about this exact situation two long months ago:
"Yesterday the voters spoke. We prevailed," Coleman said Wednesday at a news conference. He noted Franken could opt to waive the recount.
"It's up to him whether such a step is worth the tax dollars it will take to conduct," Coleman said, telling reporters he would "step back" if he were in Franken's position.
The key difference between Franken and Coleman: Franken won, and he did it without a cherry-picking legal strategy. At this point, Coleman is a sure loser, his only flicker of a hope is dependent on the success of a "count my votes, but not his" legal strategy that is doomed to failure.

"I do not see any way we can afford to wait until March to deal with a potential $1-billion-plus shortfall in this budget year," Sink, the state's only elected Democratic executive, said in an interview later. "That's just an impossible situation."
Either the governor or the two leaders of the Legislature call special sessions, and so far Gov. Charlie Crist and new leaders of the House and Senate, all Republicans, are taking a wait-and-see approach. And Sink's criticism comes as Crist is reaching the midpoint of his term.

Third was to tighten the grip by our Security Agencies on us.
Forth was to empty the Treasury and hand it over to American Big Business and especially Detroit who worked hand in hand with the Oil Companies.
Fifth was to remove all restrictions on the Energy Dealers, begin the circle of unending wars to benefit the Defense Contractors and Suppliers and especially Halliburton.
Sixth was to expand the powers of the VP and President a long ways toward a Fascist Dictatorship.
And you know they SUCCEEDED...possibly with the help of Rove blackmailing members of Congress with the info gathered through the illegal spying.
BUT HERE IS THE UNANSWERED PART....how did they plan their get away?
Surely Bush is going to pardon everyone who helped him carry out his orders (from these Corporate Giants) but HOW IS BUSH GOING TO GET AWAY???

EASTON, Pa. (AP) - The father of 3-year-old Adolf Hitler Campbell, denied a birthday cake with the child's full name on it by one New Jersey supermarket, is asking for a little tolerance. Heath Campbell and his wife, Deborah, are upset not only with the decision made by the Greenwich ShopRite, but with an outpouring of angry Internet postings in response to a local newspaper article over the weekend on their flare-up over frosting.
"I think people need to take their heads out of the cloud they've been in and start focusing on the future and not on the past," Heath Campbell said Tuesday in an interview conducted in Easton, on the other side of the Delaware River from where the family lives in Hunterdon County, N.J.
"There's a new president and he says it's time for a change; well, then it's time for a change," the 35-year-old continued. "They need to accept a name. A name's a name. The kid isn't going to grow up and do what (Hitler) did."
Deborah Campbell, 25, said she phoned in her order last week to the ShopRite. When she told the bakery department she wanted her son's name spelled out, she was told to talk to a supervisor, who denied the request.
Karen Meleta, a spokeswoman for ShopRite, said the Campbells had similar requests denied at the same store the last two years and said Heath Campbell previously had asked for a swastika to be included in the decoration.
"We reserve the right not to print anything on the cake that we deem to be inappropriate," Meleta said. "We considered this inappropriate."
The Campbells ultimately got their cake decorated at a Wal-Mart in Pennsylvania, Deborah Campbell said. About 12 people attended the birthday party on Sunday, including several children who were of mixed race, according to Heath Campbell.
"If we're so racist, then why would I have them come into my home?" he asked.
The Campbells' other two children also have unusual names: JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell turns 2 in a few months and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell will be 1 in April.
Heath Campbell said he named his son after Adolf Hitler because he liked the name and because "no one else in the world would have that name." He sounded surprised by all the controversy the dispute had generated.
Campbell said his ancestors are German and that he has lived his entire life in Hunterdon County. On Tuesday he wore a pair of black boots he said were worn by a German soldier during World War II.
He said he was raised not to avoid people of other races but not to mix with them socially or romantically. But he said he would try to raise his children differently.
"Say he grows up and hangs out with black people. That's fine, I don't really care," he said. "That's his choice."

A custody battle between a Satanist and his Christian ex-wife has raised constitutional issues after both demanded the right to share their religion with their three young children.

Kristie Meyer has cited the religious beliefs of her former husband, Jamie, as the main reason why an Indiana judge should restrict his visitation rights.
She wants the three to go to church on Sunday mornings - technically, when they are with Mr Meyer - but points out they are unlikely to do so if they are with their father, a member of an organisation calling itself the Church of Satan.
However, legal experts have warned that the American Constitution prevents judges from showing a religious preference.
In a forthcoming court case in Fulton, Indiana, Mr Meyer may now be asked to prove that Satanism, which he says is about celebrating man's desires rather than worshipping the devil, is a real faith.
Meanwhile, legal observers say his former wife may have to show that Satanism - which is recognised as a religion by the US Internal Revenue Service - is harmful to their daughters' upbringing.
Mrs Meyer has argued that her ex-husband's public expression of satanic beliefs has embarrassed their children.
Pat Roberts, her lawyer, has asked the judge to order Mr Meyer to drop off the children at his ex-wife's church so they can attend with her during his visitation time.
"Frankly, (it) can be emotionally damaging or confusing to children when they're faced with these two different forms of worship," Mr Roberts told the Chicago Tribune.
"Let's call it worship rather than religion. Religion is based upon recognition of a supreme being."
He added: "Allowing them to go to church for a couple of hours on a Sunday morning is... not unreasonable."

If they have Sirius and/or XM, tell them to listen via XM Ch. 167 and Sirius Left Ch. 146! If you or anybody you know don't have XM or Sirius, and they don't live within range of a Malloy or Randi station, tell them to fire up the Nova M netfeeds! And if they don't work for whatever reason, most every affiliate has a netfeed! I can vouch for netfeeds of 1480 KPHX - Phoenix (especially since they are the same feed you get when you use the Nova M feed!), 940 WINZ - Miami, 1150 K-Talk - Los Angeles, 620 KPOJ - Portland OR, 1190 KPTK - Seattle, 1290 WJNO - West Palm Beach, and 92.1 The Mic - Madison WI.
