If you need glassware, this is the guy.

Aluminum powder, you ask? Well, mix it with iron powder you can get on ebay (50,50 by weight) and you have 4,000 degree thermite. Of course, you'll want to buy some magnesium strips to get it started.

Or, you can buy potassium permanganate and drip some glycol onto it to start the fire up.

Of course, if you have some ammonium perchlorate just hanging around, you can make 'flash powder' by combining it with the aluminum. Of course, 'flash powder' is almost a misnomer. See the video.

Now, there are a couple of points to make here:

1) NEVER, ever should you attempt to make flash powder unless you're intent on killing yourself.

2) the MORONS in the video (as in all such videos) yell and scream stupid shit - because they are - wait for it! - morons.

3) Did I mention that one should never, ever attempt to make flash powder?

I only mention these things because - well - I'm bored today and I'm looking for distractions to prevent me from cleaning my place up. Personally, I've never made either of these things, but I do know a bit of chemistry, so when I got this e-mail containing the aluminum ad, I looked the videos up.
